JackpotJoy to provide real-money blackjack games on Ryanair flights?

Ryanair, a leading UK budget airline, is considering offering blackjack and other real-money casino games to passengers on some of their international flights, a spokesperson for the airline announced Friday. The move is an attempt to raise revenue as Ryanair’s profits continue to drop in the face of the current global economic crisis. An extra source of income would also help Ryanair keep their fares low.
The service would only be available on flights that leave the UK, since the UK Gambling Commission won’t issue gambling licenses for aircraft. This means that the games will only be offered while the plane is in international airspace.
The full details of the proposed project have not been worked out yet, but it is expected that JackpotJoy would be the casino offering the games, since they already have a deal with Ryanair offering a small collection of custom casino games on the airline’s website.
