Mobile Gambling Comes to Nevada
Dec 25, 2010
When it comes to mobile casinos, players in the United States are dealt a losing hand.
American gambling laws are complex at the moment, and while there are a number of internet casinos where US players can real money enjoy casino games, there simply aren’t any mobile gambling options available at the moment.
Fortunately, this is starting to change. The Nevada Gaming Control Board has just approved a mobile phone gambling app that lets people bet on sports using their mobile phones. There is only one catch – the app can only be used in the state of Nevada, the only place in the United States where sports betting is completely legal.
The app is developed by American Wagering, and associated with Nevada bookmaker Leroy’s. So far it has just been released for Blackberry and Android mobile phones, but its device coverage may expand in the future. The mobile betting app was put through extremely rigorous testing by the Gaming Control Board, and was found to be safe, fair, and reliable.
