Leader of San Jose Hell’s Angels MC Murdered During Casino Gun Fight
Oct 1, 2011
The leader of the San Jose chapter of the Hell’s Angels Motorcycle Club (MC), was killed at a Nevada blackjack casino during a gun fight with a rival outfit – the Vagos MC.
According to casino gambling news, Mr. Jeff ‘Jethro’ Pettigrew, the president of the San Jose chapter of the Hell’s Angels MC was shot four times in the back at the John Ascuaga’s Nugget Casino in Nevada last Friday.
During the shootout that left the iconic leader of the San Jose chapter dead, two Vagos members were wounded while a third was hit in the stomach during a drive-by shooting the following day.
Police suspect the shooting was a revenge attack, and local law enforcement is wary of a large scale war taking place on its turf.
Sparks Mayor Geno Martini canceled the 18th annual Street Vibrations motorcycle rally event and declared a state of emergency amid fears the gang violence might continue.
Cesar Villagrana, 36, a full member of Hells Angels was immediately arrested following the shooting and faces multiple felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon.
Police say video surveillance shows Villagrana, a member of the Hells Angels, pulling out a gun from his waistband and firing into the crowd after Pettigrew was gunned down.
The alleged killer, Mr. Ernesto Manuel Gonzalez, 53, of San Jose and a member of the rival Vagos motorcycle club was apprehended on Thursday at a San Francisco college campus.
Gonzalez is being held in the San Francisco jail pending his extradition back to Sparks, Nev., where police accuse him of killing Jeffrey “Jethro” Pettigrew inside John Ascuaga’s Nugget Hotel and Casino.
