Entering casino business seems to many as a quick road to riches. Yet, doing it legally involves obtaining a license after a long process, and investing a significant sum of money in the infrastructure. Finally, the casino must attract visitors, competing among many.

In the latest gambling news, we report of a few Hawaii strange fellows who sought the quick way to riches, hoping for underground casino profits.

Indeed, their business started doing quite well and the client based kept on expanding, except that some of these clients were the undercover cops, actually working not really gambling, pretending to be naive Blackjack cards players. These law enforcement officials spent as much as six months gambling at the illegal casino, almost earning a VIP status.

They surely would like to continue, except that the prosecutor’s office concluded that enough evidence was gained to seek arrests. Multiple bosses were arrested, some while drinking martinis on Waikiki beach in Honolulu to celebrate the growth of business. At the time of the police bust, the investigators seized multiple gambling machines, and a few table card accessories such as a baccarat, poker, and blackjack tables. Additionally, $9,000 in cash was confiscated.

The group of men was arrested on breaking the gambling law charges and released a day later. Following that, one man was arrested for a second time as a prosecutor decided to throw in a few additional gambling related charges such promoting gambling, possession of illegal devices, and possession of gambling records.

Since the the local police seeks to fight illegal gambling by offering a reward of $1,000, this makes us wonder: If you’re in Hawaii, will strangers peek at your smartphone to determine if, by chance, you’re not playing at one of those mobile casinos which are exploding in popularity?
