Zynga casino and poker games now available online in the UK.
After long months of preparing, Zynga suddenly launched its gambling sites today without much fuss. Named “ZyngaPlusCasino” and “ZyngaPlusPoker”, these online venues are open to UK players.

The company’s new casino and poker sites are of course aimed at boosting revenue by adding real-money punters to its army of social gamers – and converting some of the latter into the former category at the same time.
This effort is helped by the adaptation of some familiar titles and game characters, such as the creation of a FarmVille-themed slots game on the casino site. There are naturally all the other casino games that players may expect, with online Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat and 160 slots among them.
Being a giant in social gaming, online gambling is uncharted waters for Zynga. Consequently they are relying on plenty of hired expertise, as well as teaming up with Bwin.party, the actual UK gambling license holder.

While these sites, apart from using some of Zynga’s social gaming themes, are essentially classic online casinos, they also serve to provide Zynga plenty of indispensable expertise in the online gambling area.
This expertise should eventually allow them to work towards the aforementioned convergence.
Although the offer is limited to UK players, the company is certainly eying US legal development, as well as planning to enter other markets. “Our long term vision is to offer our players the next generation of real money games on multiple platforms in regulated markets worldwide,” said Zynga’s Chief Revenue Officer Barry Cottle.
Speaking of multiple platforms, the mobile casino software is already under development, and free Facebook versions of the games are also expected to be released soon.
