Plumbee will develop new social games implementing Endemol’s TV show brands
Endemol launched a new multimillion Euro global venture and Plumbee takes a big USD13 million bite of the pie.
Production and distribution giant Endemol recently launched a multimillion euro global venture, which aims at creating a network of connected digital channels using innovative smart strategies.
The big winner from Endemol’s new adventure is Plumbee, a gaming technology company that runs Mirrorball Slots, online and mobile slots on Facebook.
Endemol’s investment in Plumbee is USD13 million, according to an agreement that estimates the gaming company at USD40 million.
Plumbee’s task is to develop new social games implementing Endemol’s TV show brands. The firm started in 2011 with Idinvest’s financial support and is still an investor in the company.
Mirrorball Slots is one of the highest grossing games on Facebook and Plumbee also runs the Bonza Slots and Bonza Casino products.
Online and mobile casinos in the social media are generally free, but in order to have access to additional tempting features and upgrades, the players have to pay.
Lucas Church, chair of Endemol’s Group Commercial Board, commented on the agreement: “Social casino gaming is a fast emerging market and Plumbee is one of the most innovative and dynamic operators in this space. This new partnership will allow us to accelerate the growth of Endemol’s digital gaming business around the world, whilst capturing more of the value created by our entertainment brands.
