Bookmaker hopes to build off of iOS success with launch of Android app.
UK-Bookmaker William Hill is fresh off the successful launch of its iOS platform and is continuing its drive into the iGaming market by launching a mobile sportsbook app for Android. The new app will include William Hill’s entire sportsbetting offering as well as live horseracing streams. The iOS application has been downloaded 1.5 million times, and the bookie hopes to repeat that kind of success on Android.
Company executives have touted its “multi-channel” growth strategy, seeking to satisfy customers in its land-based betting shops as well as further developing its online and mobile offerings. Market trends indicate that mobile will be the big ticket moving forward.
Recent moves by Hill reflect mobile revolution
Mobile’s market share is steadily increasing, and as Android is the most popular mobile operating system in the UK, the firm has every reason to be optimistic. Operations director Jurgen Ruetter stated that launching the Android app was:
“A significant and important milestone in our goal. Mobile is growing phenomenally quickly and is a fantastic way to engage with our customers anytime, anywhere…with Android now the biggest selling operating system in Britain we’re delighted our customers with Android devices can have the best possible user experience.”
William Hill also has a variety of mobile casino games available, reflecting the growing trend toward gambling and betting on smartphones and tablets.
