South American mobile gamers have a new smartphone to look forward to: the Nokia Lumia 505.

Not all Windows mobile gambling devices have to be expensive. Nokia has once again proven that with its latest Lumia 505 smartphone. The Windows Phone 7.8 running device was designed after the Lumia 510 and is expected to go on sale through Mexican carrier Telcel in a couple of weeks.

The Nokia Lumia 505 will offer mobile casino fans entry-level specs including a 3.7 inch AMOLED screen, single-core 800MHz CPU, and 256MB of RAM. Also included are the 8MP snapper, 4GB of built-in memory and 7GB of free SkyDrive storage space.

Despite seemingly week specs, the smartphone is quite suitable for Windows casino play, and offers a decent 1300mAh battery, good enough for over 7 hours of talk time and 600 hours of standby. The new Nokia will come in black, red or pink, and will weight 131 grams, measuring 118.1×61.2×11.3mm.

Although the pricing policy is yet to be announced by the Telcel carrier, it’s expected to be quite affordable for a Windows 7.8 running smartphone. The device is set to launch during the upcoming weeks.

South America is the primary market for budget smartphones, and Mexico is one of the most important countries with more and more users choosing smartphones over previously favored featurephones.
