New Android smartphones from Motorola
Electrify 2 and Defy XT

American mobile gamers can already enjoy two new Motorola smartphones: the Electrify 2 and the Defy XT.

It’s been quite a while since Motorola unveiled new Android casino gambling devices. Now, there’s not one, but two smartphones on the way: the Defy XT and the Electrify 2, both land on the US Cellular carrier shelves.

The Motorola Electrify 2 is a natural successor to the Electrify (also known as the Photon 4G), but its specs bring it closer to the Atrix HD. The new device will offer mobile casino gambling enthusiasts a 4.3 inch qHD screen and a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU.

Other features include an 8MP snapper with 1080p video recording capabilities, 8GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM, Android Ice Cream Sandwich, Kevlar back, and 1,780mAh power source.

The device is already on sale for $199 provided a $100 mail-in-rebate. It seems strange why mobile casino games fans should fork over the same amount for a lesser than the Motorola Atrix HD phone, then the Atrix itself is sold at the same price through AT&T.

The other new smartphone, the Motorola Defy XT, sports a 3.7 inch screen, 1GHz CPU, 5MP camera, FWVGA (854×480) video, 1GB of internal memory, 512MB of RAM, and the same tough body that the Defy line is loved for.

What’s really shocking is that the device is sold with Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box, with no word on Ice Cream Sandwich update possibilities. A real slap in the face from Motorola.
