Nokia Asha 501

Nokia Asha 501 device is now official, expected to bring new Asha platform to over 90 countries in June, 2013.

India was the country, where Stephen Elop chose to present the newest Nokia mobile casino gambling device – the Asha 501. The smartphone will be the first one to be based on the brand new generation of Asha platforms, which came into being after the Finnish giant has acquired Smarter Phone.

The new Asha platform will treat mobile casino games fans to a brand new interface based on swipe motions and a new feature – Fastlane. The Nokia Asha 501 is also one of the most durable Nokia phones to date. Made only out of two parts, the device will withstand most impacts and dents.

The device will deliver a 3 inch QVGA screen with 133ppi, 3.2MP snapper on the back, preinstalled 4GB microSD card, which can be bumped up to 32GB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and microUSB 2.0. The first device will only support 2G making it perfect for emerging markets, but there will also be 3G version, which will come later.

The Nokia Asha 501 is heavily focused on social networks, including preinstalled access to Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Foursquare, Youtube and many more. Moreover, the partnership with Airtel and Facebook will allow owners of the device access the social network at no cost whatsoever even without a data plan (this will only be valid for a limited time though).

The 1,200mAh battery may not seem as much, but considering the device won’t run energy-consuming apps, it will be enough for up to 17 hours of talk and 48 days of standby. The company also plans to launch a dual-SIM version of the Asha 501 later.

The device is expected to hit the markets in over 90 countries through 60+ operators in June this year. the pricing starts at $100 without taxes for the single-SIM variant.
