The latest Panasonic droid – Eluga – becomes available in Europe delivering mobile gamblers impressive specs.

After a few years of silence on the smartphone market, the Japanese giant Panasonic is back. The Eluga smartphone is expected to compete against the best of them including Samsung, Motorola and HTC.

Mobile casinos fans will certainly enjoy the IP57 certification of the smartphone, allowing them to enjoy gambling on the phone even after fully submerging it under water. Dust and small debris will also have no effect whatsoever on the operation of the smartphone.

The Panasonic Eluga was released in Germany a couple of days ago and is available in black as well as silver colors. The price tag of EUR 440 / GBP 365 for the SIM-free version is quite attractive and might become one of the strongest arguments in favor of the phone.

The new Panasonic smartphone will treat fans of mobile casino games to the TI OMAP 4430 chipset with a 1GHz dual-core CPU and PowerVR SGX540 GPU. The 4.3 inch OLED qHD screen, an 8MP snapper and 8GB internal memory also speak in favor of the new smartphone.

The whole thing is running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but the Ice Cream Sandwich update is approaching to boost Android casinos performance.

Panasonic has also prepared a big brother for the phone – the Eluga Power featuring a 1.5GHz dual-core Krait CPU, Adreno 225 graphics and a 5 inch HD LCD display. The pricing policy for the monsterphone is also already available – EUR 585 / GBP 480. No release date so far, however.
