Cruise Party is a WiiWare game that tries to capture the excitement of a casino cruise. The new game, which can be downloaded directly onto the Wii video game system from Nintendo, lets players enjoy video poker, blackjack, roulette and slots games in a virtual cruise ship environment.

The games are easy to learn and play. They are designed to be multiplayer, so Wii users can gather friends together and enjoy a bit of social gambling. No real money is used of course, it’s all just for fun. It all sounds very interesting, but unfortunately, gamers are not giving the new title very good reviews.

According to gaming website Nintendo Life, Cruise Party calls the new game “underwhelming”, and says it really isn’t very fun to play. They gave the game a lot of points for presentation – indeed, the graphics are really tremendous – but they say things were poorly implemented overall.

While Cruise Party is intended as a casual game, targeting a younger audience, there are plenty of places to find more realistic (and more profitable) blackjack games. Online casinos may offer up to 40 different blackjack variations at once, and special live dealer casinos add to the realism with live video feeds of real games that players can join from wherever they are in the world.

At the end of the day, anyone who wants to teach their children the ins and outs of blackjack are welcome to check out Cruise Party (it costs 800 points, or about $8 to download). For more serious blackjack, try one of these recommended online casinos.
