App Upgrades Can Take Only a Few Hours for Paddy Power After Updates

Paddy Power fans are in for another treat from the innovative Irish bookmaker, as their mobile sports betting apps have been adapted to allow for faster upgrade times across all platforms.

The bookmaker rolled out new automation tool in March this year, and after combining that with a new deployment of their server resources, they were able to reduce the time required to deploy any applications. At the same time, the mobile sportsbook have reduced the amount of manual interaction in the system, which has also helped to speed the process up.

Paddy Power’s software development manager, John Turner, added: “For one of our back office systems we can provision an entire environment in ten minutes. This allows us to more efficient in the way that we use infrastructure. Our release cycles in 2010 were described in months, and towards the end of 2012 these were talked about in weeks. Now we have the capability of releasing in hours.”

With this new system allowing any bugs to be ironed out extremely quickly, they hope to offer customers an even better service in the coming months.
