Playtech, an internet gambling firm that produces software for online casinos, online poker rooms, internet bingo sites, and mobile casinos, saw positive second quarter results showing an overall 2 percent increase in profits. Gross income for the quarter was reported as 44.5 million euros which was up 34 percent from the same quarter last year.

Increased income levels were attributed primarily to growth in their online casino and bingo sectors, which provided an overall positive growth despite decline in Playtech’s internet poker segment. The report suggested that this year’s World Cup distracted players from other gambling over the summer, making it a relatively slow season, but they still came out ahead.

Playtech’s mobile casino platform is one of their smallest sectors, but a recent surge in the popularity of mobile casino games is helping the sector grow. The software is designed for flexibility, allowing players to download either individual games or to opt for ‘Casino Pack’ bundles. More than a dozen games are currently available to mobile users, including titles that connect players to Playtech’s massive progressive jackpot network, offering the chance to win life-changing prizes from anywhere.

Casino Las Vegas Mobile is a prime example of a Playtech-powered mobile gambling site. This mobile casino supports 12 of Playtech’s best mobile titles, from popular progressive video slots to classic table games like mobile blackjack, mobile baccarat, and mobile video poker. Hundreds of devices are supported, from Nokia to BlackBerry.

While Playtech’s mobile platform does not yet support the Apple iPhone or iPad mobile devices, this might just be the next step that the gambling firm takes.
