Samsung v Apple Holland
Samsung v Apple

The never-ending saga of Samsung against Apple continues with yet another court ruling in favor the boys from Cupertino.

Samsung is out of luck again: the Supreme Court in The Hague ruled that the Korean mobile casino gambling tools manufacturer has infringed yet another Apple patent. The technology in question is a bounce-back effect at the end of scrollable lists.

The later versions of Android no longer have the bounce-back effect, instead there’s a blue glowing. This only makes the Android casino devices operated on Android 2.2.1 – 3.0 guilty of infringing the Cupertino patent.

However, this time around Samsung caught a break: the damages could be minimal. The Dutch court has allowed the Korean giant to update all Galaxy smartphones during the coming 8 weeks. In case Samsung fails to do so, there will be a fine of EUR 100,000 per day until the last infringing Galaxy smartphone disappears from the market.

We really do hope that Apple and Samsung will put their jealousy to rest and instead focus on bringing us more innovative technologies and at a faster rate. These law battles aren’t doing anyone any good, and are only slowing down the innovation process, hence making the consumers pay for differences between the companies.
