Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S4 Active after numerous rumors about the much-anticipated smartphone.

Most of the rumors have been confirmed after Samsung has made the Galaxy S4 Active official. Yes, the new mobile casino tamer is IP67 certified for water and dust protection thanks to a specially designed body. The device can also capture underwater photos with its 8MP snapper and a special Aqua Mode settings, increasing quality and clarity for superior videos and images underwater.

As for the specs of the upcoming, on top of the camera downgrade, the SuperAMOLED screen of the S4 has been replaced by an LCD, but most of the remaining features are intact. 5-inch display with 1080p resolution, 1.9GHz quad-core Krait CPU, 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded via a microSD card, and 2GB of RAM.

The connectivity suite of the mobile casino games monster is covered by LTE, IR-port, Wireless AC band, and NFC. The whole thing is powered by a spacious 2,600mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will run on the very latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, sporting Samsung’s proprietary Air View, Air Gestures, WatchON IR apps, and S Health Fitness app.

The new device is a bit larger and thicker than the original, but that’s normally expected of a rugged device. The smartphone also got chunkier by 21 grams, and weighs 151g. The S4 Active will be available in Dive Blue, Urban Grey, and Orange Flare color options. Scheduled for release this summer in the US and Sweden initially. Pricing policy is yet to be revealed.
