Skrill Aims to Cut Cust of International Money Transfer with Skrill iT

Online payment processor Skrill – a favorite amongst mobile casino gamers – has launched its new Skrill iT money transfer service, so you can send money abroad quickly and cheaply.

Available in more than 200 countries and 40 currencies, the service aims to cut money transfer fees in half, potentially saving globe trotting mobile casinos users a bundle.

Skrill’s vice president of electronic remittances, Jonathan Wood, commented on the new service, saying: “Money transfer represents a crucial lifeline for millions. Yet until now, the process has been more reminiscent of the previous century, and not the current digital age. Skrill iT significantly cuts the current cost of money transfer.”

The move comes as the popularity of mobile gaming, especially freemium mobile arcade games, has reached new heights. The new service will aim to tap into this market, as well as the estimated 215 million people who live outside of their country of birth.

Last month, Skrill was bought by private equity company CVC Capital Partners, so the company has been earmarked for future growth and this move is definitely one that could help that end.

As for the impact for the gambling world, while it may not affect a number of players, it could well be a useful feature for those who travel regularly. The ability to access funds from anywhere in the world safely and cheaply is always popular, and rightly so.
