It has just been announced that the Meadows Casino in southwestern Pennsylvania, USA, will be installing a number of electronic game tables this spring. These high-tech tables will come in both poker and blackjack varieties. Each table will have five seats at it, but players at a table are only playing their hand against the computer, rather than against each other.
From the looks of it, these new electronic blackjack tables work much like blackjack games online. The big difference is that the interface is a touch-screen. After a player’s hand is shown on the digital table, the player touches a button on the screen to hit, double down, and so forth.
These tables are surely very expensive, but will probably cost the casino less in the long run since they don’t have to pay for a dealer. Whether or not these tables will appeal to players remains to be seen.
