CES 2013 Huawei press event is completed and we have official confirmation of two brand new devices – Ascend D2 and Ascend Mate.

Following a multitude of rumors and leaked images, Huawei has officially announced the Ascend D2 and Ascend Mate devices at its CES 2013 press event confirming most of the speculations to mobile casino fans.

Huawei Ascend D2

Huawei Ascend D2 comes with a 5 inch 1080p screen sporting a whopping 443ppi density, water and dust resistant capabilities, and an ultra-slim body. The new Android casino tool runs on Huawei’s proprietary 1.5GHz quad-core CPU, and offers 2GB of RAM.

Other specs include a 13MP snapper with 1080p video recording capabilities. The front camera is a 1.3MP unit, and the internal memory of the Huawei Ascend D2 is set at 32GB, sadly without the possibility to extend via a microSD card. The connectivity suit includes everything imaginable except LTE. The device is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.

The OS is the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, but it has been heavily customized by Huawei’s proprietary UI. The smartphone will be released in China as soon as the end of January, but there’s still no word on the international availability and the pricing policy.

Huawei Ascend Mate

The Ascend Mate is a phablet with 6.1 inch 720p screen, protected by Gorilla Glass, that can be used with gloves on. Huawei says the Mate will currently be the slimmest phoneblet on the market, with the display covering 73 percent of the front panel.

Inside the new mobile casino games tamer, there’s the same 1.5GHz quad-core CPU as found in the Ascend D2, and the same amount of RAM – 2GB. Other features include an 8MP snapper with 1080p video capabilities, and a 1.3MP front unit.

The Huawei Ascend Mate also lacks the LTE connectivity, but there’s a microSD card slot to allow expansion of the built-in memory. Naturally, the Mate got a larger battery – 4050mAh.

The Mate is scheduled for release in February on the Chinese market at first. Just as before there’s no word on when the rest of the world should expect the device.
