In line with expectations Sony has officially unveiled the Xperia Z and ZL devices at its CES 2013 press event.

Most rumors about the Sony Z and ZL smartphones circulating at mobile casino forums turned out to be true, as the Japanese giant unveiled the two flagship devices during its press event at the CES 2013.

Sony Xperia Z

The Sony Xperia Z is powered by the newest Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset featuring a quad-core 1.5GHz Krait CPU, Adreno 320 GPU, and 2GB of RAM. As expected the new Android casino monster has a 5 inch LED-backlit 1080p screen featuring the Mobile Bravia 2 Engine, and also offers a 13MP Exmor RS sensor, which can record 1080p videos and is capable of HDR shots.

The new device received the IP57 certification, meaning its water and dust resistant. The smooth and attractive looks are secured by a classy unibody design. Connectivity suit includes almost everything a modern mobile casino games pro can dream of: LTE, HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM radio, and NFC. MicroSD slot is included to extend the built-in memory, and the battery provides 2,330mAh of juice. The smartphone runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean featuring the latest Sony launcher.

Sony Xperia ZL

The Sony Xperia ZL is almost identical to the big brother, but has no IP57 certification and offers somewhat different design. Its front camera is located in the bottom right corner. The ZL is slightly lighter than the Z, and sports a somewhat thicker profile.

Both smartphones are expected to hit the shelves in March 2013, however the pricing policy for the devices is yet to be unveiled. It’s already known that the smartphones are destined for different markets, but that’s the extent Sony was prepared to reveal details.
