In reaction to changing market demographics Poker Stars launches new product targeting female poker enthusiasts.

Although the typical online gambler is a college educated male aged 25-45, the sheer size of the global player pool makes it a lucrative venture to cater to the millions of current and potential customers representing the other sex.

Being the largest online poker room in the world with over 50 million registered players, Poker Stars is one of those companies hitting the casino news by wooing female poker enthusiasts with the launch of their Women’s Club on January 7th.

According to the company this is a series of special tournaments where contestants vie for prizes such as vouchers and merchandise in low-stakes, daily and weekly competitions.

Further diversifying the offering are the four planned levels (Play Money, Diamonds, Hearts, Spades – sorry, no Clubs) to let players develop their strategies in accordance with their bankroll and experience.

The new initiative is also marketed as a convenient road to gain expertise, even to the point of becoming a pro. This message was delivered by Liv Boeree, a member of Team Poker Stars Pro, when she declared: “Poker Stars Women’s Club is a fantastic new way for female online players to build their bankrolls and practice tournament poker. Small buy-in events, like the ones in the Women’s Club, was how I got my bankroll started.”

Her teammate Vanessa Rousso was given the following, absolutely naturally sounding lines by the Poker Stars marketing team: “I’m eager to encourage other women to join me on the tables at Poker Stars as part of the Poker Stars Women’s Club, where ladies can play for a wide range of buy-ins and even for free in order to win cash prizes, VIP vouchers and tournament tickets!”
