Controversies surrounding professional gambler Ivey

A few weeks ago, Crockfords casino in London refused to pay Ivey his $11.5 million winnings.

The Mayfair casino claimed that Ivey and a female companion previously banned from establishment allegedly cheated during a high-stakes Punto Banco game, a variation of baccarat.

The casino authorities brought in UK and Malaysian gambling experts to investigate the case. The officials have watched hours of security surveillance and questioned casino employees. So far, no arrests have been made and no party has commented on the incident.

A few days after the London casino trouble with the winning, Ivey managed to settle a disagreement with fellow UK poker professional Ram Vaswani over a $900,000 golf bet.

Vaswami,Ivey and other two card game pros played golf for a heavy $20,000 a hole back in 2007, later raising the bet to a $50,000 per hole.

Ivey beat Vaswani, but the latter accused him of cheating saying the American hid his correct golf handicap. Ivey denied the charges and insisted that Vaswami paid him.

The two poker pros player settled with an agreement after five years of bad mouth after the golf game.
