Prague Tournament Next Up For Nadal But in Poker not Tennis

As if conquering the tennis world wasn’t enough, ATP world number 1, Rafa Nadal, is due to take center stage at the European Poker Tour Prague Festival on December 12th. While many players will be enjoying a crisp game of Android casino poker, the tennis star will be checking his cards in his first official live tournament.

“It’s no secret that I love the competition and that’s what I like about poker,” said Rafa Nadal. “It’s a game of skill that requires mental strength and the ability to out-think your opponents and in that way there are similarities to tennis. I have been playing poker online for almost 18 months and now I’m looking forward to the challenge of playing my first live tournament.”

Nadal is an ambassador for PokerStars, who are looking to take advantage of the huge increase in iPhone and Android mobile gambling with their poker apps. The company has remained at the top of the online poker rankings for some time now, and events such as this just highlight the ever expanding popularity of poker throughout the world.

With mobile casinos also coming to the US, there is increased competition for poker sites to contend with. Big attractions such as Rafa Nadal are seen as one way companies like PokerStars can get players in the door.
