Zynga just bought out an iPhone game developer, giving iPhone users hopes of seeing more Zynga games go mobile.

Zynga is a company that develops games for Facebook like Farmville, Zynga Poker, and even a Facebook-style blackjack card game. On Tuesday, Zynga acquired Bonfire Studios, a software developer based out of Dallas, Texas.

Bonfire was once known as Ensemble Studios, and was responsible for working with Microgaming to develop popular PC and Xbox 360 games like Age of Empires and Halo Wars. Now, Bonfire focuses on creating games for the iPhone and iPad mobile devices.

Earlier this year, Bonfire developed an iPad game called We Farm, which is essentially a mobile version of Farmville. It is already one of the top 10 grossing iPad games.

In light of Zynga’s new acquisition, rumors are flying around that other Zynga games, like Zynga Blackjack, might soon be coming to iOS mobile devices. There is already a mobile version of Zynga Poker called Zynga Live Poker, but due to Apple Apps Store restrictions, it cannot be played for real money.

Despite Apple’s stance on gambling, iPhone casinos and iPad casinos do exist, providing quick-play games like jackpot slots, video poker, and blackjack. There is as of yet no online poker site that offers real-money iPhone poker games like Zynga Live, but there is no limit to what the future of iPhone gambling may bring.
