Lucky players from Arizona and Missouri win the $579 million Powerball lottery jackpot.

According to mobile gambling news, there have been winning tickets for $579 million Powerball lottery jackpot. One $2 ticket for $289.5 million – we appreciate it and congratulate the winners.

The jackpot is the second biggest lottery prize in history of the American lottery, but per head it is the biggest lottery winning ever.

The record lottery jackpot in the United States was $656 million, on Mega Millions in March 2012. Three lucky winners split the Mega Millions winnings. We’re sure the $218.6 million was more than enough for all of them.

The winning numbers drawn were 5, 23, 16, 22, 29 and the Powerball was 6. The two winning tickets are reported to be issued and sold in Missouri and Arizona. Neither of the winners has claimed the prize yet. It takes time to to get used to being a multi-millionaire.

The Powerball jackpot was growing for 16 consecutive weeks. The odds to score the jackpot were one to 175.2 million. There is no winning strategy for lottery, as the draw of the winning numbers is purely random. To give you an example: you are much, much more likely to be hit by a lightning than hitting the jackpot (1:3 million vs 1: 1:175.2 million).

Lottery Tickets were selling at an incredible speed, with a rate of 130,000 a minute on the day (Tuesday) before the draw.

The price of Powerball tickets was doubled to $2 in the beginning of this year, but despite the higher price, sales revenue is a good third higher than last year.

According to the statistic, an increasing amount of gamblers buy their lottery tickets on mobile phones. Using a mobile device saves time, which can be an important issue during a gambling frenzy such as in the case of the Powerball jackpot, where people queued for hours for tickets.
