Blackjack teaching app from Microgaming
Learn Blackjack

Intergalactic Blackjack adventure comes to Windows phones and Xbox.

Released last week to coincide with the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, an entertaining new Windows mobile application aims to teach beginners the ins and outs of Blackjack.

Created by Microgaming, the industry leader casinos software provider, the new app is called Bronzebeard Blackjack: The Strategy Coach and is free to download from the Microsoft Windows Phone Store.

The application is free to download and to play, containing many eye-catching animations and a rich storyline taking players on an intergalactic adventure across “four levels of game play and a wealth of special treasure win”.

Although borrowing Captain Bronzbeard from one of its popular slots called The Great Galaxy Grab, the product itself is something new for Microgaming.

The company’s Head of Product Channels, Neill Whyte highlighted the novel direction when he said that “this is a very exciting development for Microgaming and shows our intent to develop games for all operating systems and platforms. The […] application is receiving very positive reviews online, which is fantastic to see.”

Of course the new app does not mean that the company is abandoning its online and mobile casino software pipeline in favor of free apps, but it is merely building a more diversified product portfolio.

The teaching game in question works on Windows Phone 7 and 8 operating systems. Microgaming also expects to release it for Microsoft Windows 8.0 and through Xbox Live in the near future. The app does not need internet connection after downloading.

While the game is intended to teach blackjack rules, it is also designed to provide “plenty of fun […] for Blackjack beginners and pros alike,” according to Microgaming.
