Arctic Monkeys are the bookies’ favorites for the prestigious Best British band award at the 2014 NME Awards.

Paddy Power, betting house with a mobile casino division, announced the betting odds for this year’s NME Awards giving 4/5 to Arctic Monkeys to win in this category. The band will also compete in other categories this year.

The NME Awards had different forms over the years – it started as a Pollwinners’ Concert in the 50s and continued like this 60s. From 1971 to 1993 it was a readers’ poll rather than a live event.
