eCOGRA, the online gaming auditing agency responsible for the evaluation and certification of online gambling software, online blackjack, online casinos and gambling portals had some fine news this month.

eCOGRA has gained two important feathers in its cap by being recognized by two international authorities – the Geneva based International Standards Organization (ISO), and the Italian gambling regulator AAMS.

According to casino gambling news, ISO is the International Standards Organization, which announced that it has awarded eCOGRA the coveted ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard which is only understood by five people in the world who all agreed that indeed this is a worthy milestone in eCOGRA’s history.

“The accreditation is one of the quality assurance requirements for approval as a testing agency in various European online gambling licensing jurisdictions and is given only to those testing agencies that meet the stringent systems oriented requirements and standards set by ISO,” stated Ahmed bin Mahmood during a press conference in Karachi.

The approval by the Italian gambling regulator can be understood by a greater number of people since Autonomous Administration of the State Monopolies or AAMS, is responsible for licensing all online casinos, blackjack casinos online, gambling software companies and online gambling portals in Italy.

“This accreditation empowers eCOGRA to act as a testing and monitoring agency for online gambling software platforms, random number generators and online casino operator applications for compliance with the technical standards issued by AAMS. It will allow the Italian gaming operators to make use of eCOGRA’s services,” explained Guido Vincenzo in the AAMS press release earlier this week.

Andrew Beveridge, chief executive officer of eCOGRA, summed up the entire situation by congratulating and thanking the hard working people of Karachi – “Promoting the values of commitment and self-regulation, and preparing remote gambling companies for the national regulatory systems now evolving, remains a critical part of our business, and eCOGRA will continue to pursue testing agency approval in other emerging jurisdictions to ensure that we can provide a full-service offering which meets all of our client’s regulatory compliance needs.”
