Las Vegas cabbie received $10,000 tip for his honesty. He gave back a brown paper bag with $300,000 to its rightful owner, who forgot the money in the taxi.

The driver got to entertain several rewards one of which was the amazing amount, provided by the anonymous professional poker player, who received back his winning from the cabbie.

Bill Shranko, CEO of Yellow Checker Star Cab Company, confirmed the casino gambling news that Gerardo Gamboa, taxi driver for over 13 years, received $10,000 from the 28-year-old poker player. Additionally, the company honored the cabbie with several premiums. He was named employee of the year for his honesty, got $1,000 and a gift certificate for two at a Las Vegas steakhouse.

The cab driver did not expect any payoff for his deed

Gamboa commented for the local news: “If he doesn’t give me anything, that’s OK. I’m not waiting for any kind of return. I just wanted to do the right thing, and I appreciate what the company did for me.”

The Philippines, the driver’s country of origin, spread the touching story and announced that it would pass a resolution of praise, which will be send to the hero.

The poker industry is currently overwhelmed with different attempts to reveal who is the person smart enough to implement successful casino strategies and win $300,000, but at the same time absentminded regarding his money. The names of Phil Galfond, Justin Bonomo, Ben Lamb and Mark Newhouse are currently on the list.
