Poker tournament in Australia, which promotes its $50 million winner-take-all prize apparently is a fraud, as the casino where it will presumably take place, denied to have it in the schedule.

The press release that promoted the tournament was published few days ago, but apparently the whole event is a big fraud.

The “Royal Poker Challenge” was said to happen on 30th March this year at The Star Hotel and Casino in Sydney, offering the record-setting top prize of $50 million. This gambling news didn’t end there as the casino’s poker room expressly denied having such kind of eventscheduled to happen at their casino.

The fake tournament was convincingly promoted

The press release for the event said: “48 players have already enrolled – a majority of these are wealth business leaders, entrepreneurs and industry titans from Asia who indulge in high stakes poker for entertainment.” In addition pro players were also invited to compare their casino table manners at the fake occasion.

Apparently, the Royal Poker Challenge tournament is some kind of a joke, but actually there will be a real $1 million buy-in event later this year.

At the 2014 World Series of Poker numerous professionals and amateurs will compete in the One Drop High Roller. In 2012, the event was mastered by the poker guru Antonio Esfandiari who won a record top prize of more than $18.3 million.
