Thieving priest lost half a million

Roman Catholic priest embezzles donors’ money to support a gambling habit.

Las Vegas can corrupt anyone, even men of God. According to casino gambling news, a mild mannered Vegas parish priest with a loyal flock and a reputation for always being their to help has pleaded guilty to slowly leeching over $650,000 in a course of eight years from his own parishioners.

The monseigneur admitted to breaking just about every commandment and gospel during his voracious gambling sprees that make a joke out of the deadly sins.

A man who may have thought he’s a card counting system guru, has shamelessly funneled cash from the followers, many of whom gave the parish their hard earned and recession decimated dollars for what appeared to be a charitable cause.

Tough realities of Vegas

Unfortunately, the parsimonious priest couldn’t grasp the blackjack rule variations at the glamorous Vegas casinos, thus losing hundreds of thousands of believers’ donations.

Now, the disgraced priest who however has not been defrocked may face sixty years in prison. Nevertheless, the true believers didn’t give up on their renegade pastor. Prosecutor’s office received tens of letters begging to give the priest a probation as he’s ”willing to repent his sins” and will do so better while roaming free in Vegas.

As the Rev. Kovalcin from the Catholic Diocese of Las Vegas stated, “He must repair the damage he has caused and heal the people he has hurt. He cannot do that from a prison confinement.”

The bad news for the priest is that the prosecutor’s office doesn’t exactly feel that way.
