Usain Bolt in Manchester United
Usain Bolt in MU

Are we going to see Usain Bolt to sprint after a football during English Premier League matches?

Usain Bolt stated that at London 2012 Summer Olympics he wants to become a legend. Apparently, the man from Jamaica is getting tired of sprinting 100 or 200 meters. Now, as rumors suggest, Bolt twitted that he is considering becoming a football (soccer) star and playing for… Manchester United.

As London Olympic news report, Rio Ferdinand apparently claimed he will assist Usain Bolt in getting in touch with Alex Ferguson. (Hmmm…as if Bolt couldn’t do it on his own.)

After trying to buy a ticket last year for men’s 100 m sprint at London Olympics, and failing to do so (as the news indicated the tickets for this event were 10 times oversubscribed), I do believe people in England, as well as viewers worldwide, would be interested (and have great fun) in watching Bolt kick a soccer ball.

But, would a serious and world-class team such as Man United risk putting an untested player on the squad? Even though Bolt got a chance at racing against greyhounds, I don’t think Ferguson will want to buy him.

Perhaps, a second tier club will, but could they afford him? It could be as much a money-losing idea as that of bringing David Beckham to play soccer in the United States was.

Well, if Bolt joins the Premier League, you will surely be able to place bets on his performance via many of the top online and mobile sportsbooks Britain is a host to.

And why not hire Michael Phelps who just retired from swimming? His an even a bigger legend than Usain Bolt.

Usain, we hope you can help Jamaica qualify for the upcoming Football World Cup in Brazil!
