Gambling on portable devices is no longer an add-on to other offerings as Locus Gaming shows.

The market’s ambitious newcomer, Locus Gaming has published a new Internet casino for mobile and tablet devices. Jack Wild, as it is called, comes with a variety of classic games like online blackjack, roulette and baccarat, as well as an offering of 3-reel and 5-reel live slots.

The latter entices players with titles like Double Bubble, Over the Rainbow, Pentagram, Pirate Radio, Tutankhamun and Sunset Reels, and – just as importantly – by matching first time deposits with a casino bonus of up to GBP 150.

Locus indicated that players in the UK will have further Jack Wild titles coming to their screens before July. International players would not have to wait much longer to test their blackjack strategy, either. The company plans to extend “the site’s reach in selected regulated markets in the near future,’ reads a recently published statement.

Locus Gaming was founded in 2012 by former Ladbrokes executives Mick D’Ancona and Ed Andrews, with the aim to develop more user friendly games for portable platforms. As former Ladbrokes Online Operations MD and current Locus Director, Ed Andrews puts it, “the key thing is that the customer account platform and games are tailored to optimize the customer experience for the devices from which they are accessed.”

In other words, gaming on portable devices is a market on its own with specific needs and requirements, which Locus has set out to meet. The company expects Jack Wild to be popular because it was developed specifically to be used on such devices.

Internet casinos for tablets and mobiles are no longer “simply ‘bolt-on’ products to a traditional personal computer offering,” says Andrews, adding that “customers prefer the functionality offered by touchscreen devices not only in casino gaming but across all online leisure activity. The personal computer has rolled its last dice.”

The Jack Wild casino operates on the NYX Interactive account platform, with payments being processed through Datacash.
